Inspired by night walks around illuminated canals, the magnet portrays Salford Canals. In dark environments, a torchlight will bounce off the reflective areas to make the work glow. At certain angles, specs can be seen 'floating' in the middle of the convex glass. These were produced by adding dents at the back, which also mimic the rough concrete quays.
Artist Biography
Bridget Coderc graduated in 2019 with a degree in photography. Over time her practice expanded into video and performance. She uses outdated image-making technology to inspect her perception of the past and childhood memories. She is fascinated by the very concept of light and physical aspects of analogue video media.
In 2019, together with an electronic musician, she produced an installation at The Horsfall, Manchester. This marked the start of VIEUX, an audio-visual electronic dance music duo. Within VIEUX, she performs vocals and live abstract video art, writes lyrics, produces music videos. Website
