The Living Room
Residents and primary school pupils from across Salford have been busy creating their own mini living-rooms, using an activity pack created by studio member Richard Shields, commissioned by Paradise Works and funded by Salford Council.
Having spent much of the year in our living rooms, the project invited children and adults to curate their own 3d living room with miniature art works by Richard Shields. Featuring information on artists like David Hockney and Richard Hamilton, whose work also focused on ideal living room scenes, this fun activity kept the residents of Salford creative during lockdown! Distributed mid October, each pack contained miniature prints based on Richard's artwork, famous figures, carpets and even wallpaper to create mini masterpieces.
Thanks to St Josephs RC Primary School, St Phillips Ce Primary School, St Thomas of Canterbury Rc Primary School, The Cathedral School of St Peter, St John Rc Primary and Charlie Johnston for taking part.
