Winter & Kurth
Manchester, UK based Winter and Kurth is the collective practice of Designer David Winter (b.1987) and Artist Natasha Kurth (b.1986)
David and Natasha work both independently and in collaboration to create poetically designed and meticulously crafted Conceptual Objects and Artworks. Their work crosses disciplines, challenges materiality and celebrates workmanship.
Awards / Achievements;
Following the success of the duo’s inaugural project ‘For What It’s Worth’ (2015) their work was acquired for the permanent collection at Manchester Art Gallery and exhibited in the Modern Japanese Design Exhibition (2015 - 2017). They were selected for and awarded Winners of New Designers One Year On (2017) and went on to become members of Design Nation who showcased their work at the National Centre for Craft and Design (2018). Other selected shows include ‘Make’ - A Celebration of Craft at the Ruthin Craft Centre (2017) and ‘Hand Made by Machines’, exhibition and symposium at the Birmingham School of Jewellery (2019). Winter and Kurth was selected for and recently completed the Crafts Council Hothouse programme (2019). Both David and Natasha have lectured in Higher Education across practice based and contextual studies.

David’s background lies in traditional industrial design with experience across mass manufacture, furniture, interiors and the super yacht industry. Through Winter and Kurth he embraces a more critical and hands-on approach to craft.
Natasha Kurth

Conceptually driven, Natasha embraces a multidisciplinary art practice, in which she responds to objects, collections and heritage. Kurth meticulously deconstructs her subject as a way of understanding it from which she reconstructs a new material narrative.
