We're Looking for a New Director
Each year brings new opportunity, and as one chapter ends another begins. After 5 and a half years of founding Paradise Works, Lucy Harvey and Hilary Jack are stepping down from their current roles as co-directors. What Paradise Works has achieved during that time has been truly remarkable thanks to the leadership, tenacity and dedication of Lucy and Hilary.
"Paradise Works is a hugely important institution in Salford, housing artists, creatives and makers in our city who help to keep our local arts and creative economy alive, whilst also contributing massively to our culture and place partnership and an ongoing animation of the city. Where a lot of the discussion on creativity and arts focuses on its consumption, Paradise Works remembers the critical importance of production. Without spaces for artists to develop their talents and hone their skills, the arts world would be greatly impoverished." - Joanne Farrell, Head of Salford City Mayor’s Office
We are now looking for a change in leadership. The founding phase of Paradise Works has been completed and having built this influential organisation from ground zero, this new phase will aim to future proof Paradise Works with the introduction of a new director, who will work with our growing teams of Artist Direction Group, Advisory Board and freelance consultants, to develop plans for the next few years.
We are seeking a motivated, ambitious, and adaptable individual who is committed to supporting contemporary visual artists and the Paradise Works community and its vision. Candidates must be team players with excellent communication skills, a good knowledge of contemporary visual art and good connections within the region’s arts ecology.
